Professional Experience

Attorney Charo J. Hernandez Reyes is an Associate Attorney at Reeves Immigration Law Group in the Pasadena office. She has been with the firm since 2006, beginning her career as a paralegal and law clerk before later becoming an attorney after nearly two decades of progressive experience in immigration law.

She is a first-generation attorney and is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to effectively advocate for and communicate with a diverse range of clients and families navigating the immigration system.

Ms. Hernandez Reyes brings extensive experience representing clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Her practice encompasses a broad range of immigration matters, including family-based and employment-based petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, adjustment of status, removal of conditions on residency, VAWA petitions, fiancé(e) petitions, asylum, humanitarian parole, humanitarian reinstatement, and complex employment-based filings such as H-1B, PERM/labor certification, and immigrant visa classifications including EB-1, L-1, and O-1.

Ms. Hernandez Reyes represents clients in removal proceedings nationwide and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.

During law school, she participated in an Immigration and Deportation Defense Clinic, where she represented unaccompanied minor children in removal proceedings, gaining hands-on experience in humanitarian and defensive immigration litigation.

Education

Ms. Hernandez Reyes earned her Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law in 2025 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles.

Admissions

Ms. Hernandez Reyes was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2025 and is authorized to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of California. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
