Professional Experience

Attorney Devin M. Connolly joined Reeves Immigration Law Group as an associate attorney in the Pasadena office in July 2009. He became a partner of the firm in January 2011. Mr. Connolly is recognized as a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and he represents clients in all areas of immigration law. He has successfully represented clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on a broad spectrum of immigration cases, including family-based and employment-based applications for permanent resident status, naturalizations, waivers of inadmissibility, humanitarian parole, humanitarian reinstatement, joint petitions to remove the conditions on residency, removal of conditions on residency based on extreme hardship and a good-faith marriage, fiancé(e) petitions, abused spouse petitions, asylum, and H-1B petitions.

Mr. Connolly represents clients in the Immigration Courts throughout the United States and the Board of Immigration Appeals. He has successfully represented clients in obtaining Cancellation of Removal for Permanent and Non-Permanent Residents, Adjustment to Permanent Resident Status, Waivers of Inadmissibility based on extreme hardship to a qualifying relative, and Waivers of Prior Misrepresentations. Mr. Connolly has also had many of his clients’ deportation cases dismissed based on Prosecutorial Discretion so that they no longer have to fear being deported to their country of birth. In addition, he has also successfully reopened many clients’ prior deportation cases in which they had already been ordered deported. Reopening their cases allowed them to be granted permanent resident status despite originally being ordered deported many years earlier.

Attorney Connolly has in-depth experience in successfully obtaining visas at U.S. consulates throughout the world. He has also achieved a high level of success in family-reunification and employment-based applications, including obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas for temporary professional workers, students and tourists. Mr. Connolly is a contributor to Reeves Miller Zhang & Diza’s weekly column concerning the latest developments in immigration law.

Education

Attorney Connolly earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Northridge in 1999. He obtained a Master of Arts Degree in 2001 from the University of Michigan, and in 2007 earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.  

Employment History 

Prior to joining Reeves Miller Zhang & Diza, Mr. Connolly served as an immigration attorney where he obtained extensive experience in cancellation of removal for non-permanent residents, asylum, humanitarian reinstatement, naturalization, and family reunification petitions.

Admissions And Memberships 

Attorney Connolly was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2008. He is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Immigration Section.
