June 15, 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) being signed into law by President Barack Obama, granting young immigrants the ability to work legally in the United States and temporarily providing them relief from deportation threats on a two-year basis. On this day, Reeves Immigration Law Group recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of DACA recipients.
DACA has positively impacted over 800,000 young immigrants with desires to work, attend school, and plan their lives in the United States. Since DACA was signed into law, its recipients have made a tremendous impact on our country’s economy, with many starting roots in the United States, joining the workforce, creating businesses, and starting families.
While a monumental effort, DACA is not considered a permanent measure, and its recipients are still waiting for a lasting path to citizenship. President Trump previously attempted to terminate the program, but it was later ruled that DACA applications must continue to be accepted, and President Biden officially reinstated the program in 2021.
The attorneys at Reeves Immigration Law Group are proud to acknowledge the incredible impact DACA recipients have had on our country, and we are committed to continue assisting undocumented immigrants with the DACA process. If you are in need of assistance, reach out to us for help.
