Devin Connolly was recently quoted in Frank Ready’s ALM article “In Legal Departments, Work Volumes May Be Fluctuating Alongside Immigration Laws.” The piece covers the recent changes to immigration law, and how those changes have affected lawyers who work in immigration law. Notably, “employment-based adjustment of status [visa] applicants would be able to file adjustments in October.”
Devin comments on the recent immigration developments, as well as how immigration law has changed under the Trump administration.
“They’ve changed immigration in so many ways. All of the firms such as mine, all of the legal departments have been forced to navigate a system in which it’s become more and more challenging to obtain immigration benefits.”
Devin also spoke about the importance of utilizing the October waiting period and how it will affect the firm during October.
“You do not want to miss your filing window because you don’t know when it’s going to come up again.”
“It is going to require some extra hours and maybe some long nights, but I think that it’s probably feasible for everything to get done.”
