U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recently announced that the initial registration period for H-1B visas will open at noon Eastern on March 1 and run through noon Eastern on March 17, 2023. This applies to all H-1B cap subject visas for the 2024 fiscal year.
If there are more registrations than there are spots available (and that is expected), then USCIS will randomly select registrations and only allow them to actually apply for an H-1B visa. This is commonly referred to as the H-1B Lottery.
