ICE Arrests Over 1,000 Migrants Through Florida Operation

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement recently partnered with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the state’s Department of Corrections for a six-day immigration operation that resulted in the arrests of 1,100 migrants. According to ICE, the operation targeted immigrants with criminal history, with 60% of the arrests being those with prior arrests or convictions. It also targeted those with deportation orders.

ICE officials said that this operation was among the largest single-state operations in agency history and will be used as a model for conduct as the Trump administration continues to join forces with local police authorities through the 287(g) program.
