Sen. Bernie Sanders has announced his immigration proposals. Here are some of the things he would like to enact, if he were to be elected President:
-Pause all deportations until the federal government audits its immigration practices
-Push Congress to enact immigration reform that gives a pathway to citizenship or legal status to undocumented immigrants within five years.
-Grant legal status to DACA recipients
-End family detention and childhood separation policies at the border
-Stop construction of a border wall
-Allow asylum seekers to remain in the United States while there cases are being heard
Sen. Sanders’ ideas are bold and progressive. He said he would enact many of these things through executive action.
