Supreme Court to Hear DACA Oral Arguments

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments on November 12th about DACA’s legality and if President Trump’s attempts to end the program were legal. Approximately 800,000 immigrants have been benefitted from this program by being granted deferred action, obtaining work authorization to legally work in the U.S., etc.

DACA was created under President Obama in 2012 and is now facing its biggest threat, as President Trump has been trying to end the program for years. The program still exists, for now, but U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is only processing requests for renewals of DACA. Dreamers are not allowed to apply if they have never been granted DACA.

If you have any doubts about how helpful DACA has been to people, I would urge you to read this Success Story –  First DACA, Now A Green Card
