Eric Welsh was featured in Deseret News’ article “What is immigration protocol now without Title 42 in place?” which examines the future outlook for migrants and asylum seekers with the expiration of the Title 42 policy last week. The COVID-era policy made it more difficult for individuals to cross the border due to public health concerns, however, this does not mean the border is now open. Eric explained, “I think that’s important to emphasize that the lifting of Title 42 does not mean there’s an open door to the United States. Our preexisting, pre-Title 42 laws were already quite strict.”
