Being deported to your native country is a very scary event. It is impossible to know if you will ever be allowed to return to the United States. And what about the family and friends you are leaving behind? For one RMZD client, these are no longer concerns – he has now been permitted to return to the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident.
Martin Valdez is thrilled that he is finally a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. It has been a long journey for Martin, but 30 years after he initially entered the U.S., he is now a green card holder!
Martin’s journey began way back in the 1980s when he entered the U.S. without authorization. He did not come to the U.S. because he wanted to break the law, but rather he came because there were no opportunities available to him in Mexico. He knew that in the U.S. though, if he worked hard and did the right thing, he would be able to lead a happy life.
Martin eventually married and had children in the U.S., but he was never able to resolve his immigration status. And the chances of ever obtaining a green card seemed very small when Martin was deported to Mexico in 2009.
But Martin did not give up. He decided that he was going to whatever he could to return to his life in the U.S., the country where his children were born and still residing. Martin retained Reeves Miller Zhang & Diza to help. Attorney Devin Connolly began working with Martin and his family to prepare the necessary waivers that Martin would need to be allowed to return to the U.S.
Reeves Miller Zhang & Diza is now proud to say that Martin has finally received his green card.
