Trump Cancels CBP One App, Effective Immediately

On January 20th, 2025, shortly after President Donald Trump was sworn into office, Customs and Border Protection posted on its website that the CBP One app was no longer active.

The mobile app had previously been used to allow undocumented migrants to submit advance information and schedule appointments at select border ports of entry, in an effort to streamline the asylum process. As of Monday, the app has been shut down and all pending appointments have been canceled.

The Biden administration had cited that the app organized the asylum process, however, opponents of the program had criticized its technical features as well as finding it too lenient in granting mass asylum applications.
